| 1994 |
In the year in which Nelson Mandela becomes the first black president of South Africa, Randstad starts up Polydesign as an addition to its usual temporary employment activities. This business develops a completely new activity: offering a flexible pool of specialist employees who focus on specific knowledge roles. In Belgium, Polydesign has three regional branches and is active in three disciplines: engineering, electrical instrumentation and IT. |
| 2000 |
As the 21st century starts, Polydesign’s activities are transferred to Yacht, a newly established business of Randstad Holding. Yacht becomes the employment intermediary for top professionals such as ICT specialists, engineers, lawyers and accountants. Yacht also stresses employees’ professional development, by means of knowledge management, international development, competence management and human resources tools. |
| 2004 |
Yacht’s project-based activities in Belgium are grouped together and integrated under the name Randstad Professionals. The new structure leads to an even stronger offering for the business and employment market. |
| 2008 |
Randstad Holding and Vedior Holding merge. Vedior is renamed Tempo-Team, and this means that part of the Expectra group – Smartforce, Sapphire, Expectra, Expectra Life Sciences – is absorbed by Randstad Professionals from 1 January 2009. From now on, the business focuses on higher-skilled profiles from four specialist sectors: ICT, Finance, Engineering and Life Sciences. |
| 2010 |
Randstad Holding celebrates its 50th anniversary, having developed into a versatile human resources service-provider. Randstad Professionals adds HR as a specialist field in which it operates. |
