For our client active in providing energy and meter data management solutions, region Kortrijk, Randstad Professionals is looking for a

Java protocol developer on the EIServer® platform (m/v)

- you will participate in the full development lifecycle of the metering protocols, including the design, coding and testing.
- The development itself is governed by an Agile development methodology, consisting of an iterative approach, loosely based on the SCRUM methodology.
- The focus of this development role will be on the metering protocols, these protocols are well defined communication protocols with existing energy meters.
- An aptitude for good software development needs to be coupled with hardware interaction in this function.

- you should be a software developer with a Master or Bachelor degree in engineering or software development, or equivalent through experience.
- Experience in the development of Java applications.
- Experience with development of communication protocols is considered a plus.
- Experience with development of applications on top of Oracle 10g database is considered a plus.
- Experience with energy metering or the energy market at large is considered a plus.

We are looking for both senior and junior profiles.

- Furthermore you should be very passionate about Java technology or the energy metering market and should follow the new evolutions in this field, including an interest for the open source community.
- You dispose over a can-do attitude, able to quickly analyze the challenges and persisting in the face of problems. You should think autonomously, be result driven and able to closely cooperate with team.
- A good knowledge of English is a must, of French is a definite plus.
- A proven aptitude for methodical problem solving, a strong attention to detail and the ability to work well in a close-knit team
