Our client offers products, systems and solutions for different signaling projects in Belgium, especially for the Belgium Railway.
For a 12 year national project for the replacement of old relays-based interlocking by new electronic interlocking systems and the implementation of ETCS L2, European safety system they are currently hiring an experienced Site Engineer for on site testing & commissioning activities.
Next to the Interlocking and the implementation of ETCS L2, also trackside equipment (signals, track vacancy detection), high automated data preparation tools, test tools, global Maintenance System (GMS) are part of this multiple year project. The project consists of a development phase followed by a roll-out phase.
As a testing & commissioning engineer your service will entail: • On site testing & commissioning activities • Reporting progress of installation works to the Project Manager and On site Coordinator & Test Manager
This function involves: • The installation and verification of trackside equipment, cabinets and fiberoptics.
• The preparation, specification and reporting of testing activities on site: o trackside equipment and interface components (ETCS & Interlocking/Signaling system) o E2E correspondence test o 1kV and ICT systems
• Participation in the commissioning & decommissioning of Interlocking & ETCS projects
• On site data downloading
• On site configuration of: o trackside equipment o interface components in cabinets (incl SW-update) o IT Network components
• Providing technical support & troubleshooting on site
Required skills: 3 till 8 years experience in a similar technical support role familiar with reading/interpreting of railway plans familiar with interlocking/signaling system & ETCS L2 experience with signaling installation works, preferably for a railway infrastructure operator experience in testing and commissioning activities, preferably in railway environment experience in IT Networks and use of ICT applications and tools VCA/VOL certificate BA4/BA5 ability certification (bekwaamheidsattest) Drivers license B Project for 2018 mostly situated in Flanders, 2 projects in Wallonia 10% office, 90% fieldwork
Required competences: Accuracy, rigor and safety minded (a safety related error can lead to an accident) Autonomous Expected language skills : o Dutch (min C1 - Effective operational proficiency or advanced) o French (min C1 - Effective operational proficiency or advanced) o English (min B2 - Vantage or upper intermediate) o German : optional Good organizational and interpersonal skills; Excellent communication skills; Continuous improving Flexibility day/night/week-end Experienced with use of ICT-tools and applications for testing & commissioning Additional specific technical trainings for testing and commission of Siemens equipments & systems will be provided by Siemens. Either via classroom training or on the job training.
