To strengthen their team in the area TEAM (Europe, Africa) they are looking for a R&D Engineer Raw Material, based in Aalst.

- Your purpose in this job is to contribute to the development and introduction of new raw materials, pigments and additives in order to bring added value to process and products and to increase overall efficiencies. - You define and execute projects in an objective way (people, cost, timing). - You prepare and manage investment projects from introduction to realization. - You do research, benchmarking and monitoring on new raw materials, pigments and additives by visiting trade fairs, reading technical literature, working with raw material suppliers. - You organize tests in the manufacturing plants for validation of the pertinence of the new raw material, pigment or additive. - You participate in meetings with the top management to present the progress of the project. - You will closely cooperate with the Production and the Engineering department to bring solutions that contribute to continuous improvement of production performance. - You will be in close contact and built a network with external companies and suppliers of raw materials, additives or pigments. - You will report to the TEAM R&D Director.
- You have a degree in Engineering (or equivalent by experience), preferably with a chemical or material background. - You have at least 10 years of experience in high innovative manufacturing companies. - Affinity for chemistry, innovation, improvement of efficiency and research is requested. - Experience in regulation for FDA or EU certification for plastics, pigments and additives is a must. - Knowledge of injection molding process, inputs and machinery are a plus as well as be aware of new technologies/developments in the plastics processing industry. - You work accurately, you have a problem solving mindset and you can deal with complexity. - Fluency in English is necessary; German, French, Flemish are a plus. - You are open to travel about 15% of the time.
